Fans for Midori left home ………..

Now I am going too ………again!

I have scheduled quilt designs to keep you amused for the next three weeks while I head off again, this time with Butch for his official holidays. Staying with friends in Kadina and Cowell, catching up with friends and possibly some family, attending Paskeville Field Days, getting some new glasses ……………

Fans for Midori Sketch

The sketch was created from a photo in a long deleted drawing program. Interestingly, the program managed to find the outline of every element of the design, and just shaded the darker fabrics without picking out the fabric prints. The sketch is pretty rough, but nowhere near as rough as the sketches I did while making the quilt ….. without Electric Quilt!

The quilt is real, named Fans for Midori, and is big enough for a king size bed. I have fabric samples, and a few precious photos of the quilt which was sold last century! The fans are all original designs, and were hand pieced and appliqued, and the whole quilt was hand quilted.

Then I sold it at auction! Nerve wracking day!

But before it left me it was exhibited at a Golden Harvest Quilters exhibition, which is where this photo was taken, and won viewers choice in the display just prior to the auction organised by the Fluerieu Quilters. It got the highest price in the auction too!

Fans for Midori 3

My favourite fan is on the blue, centre bottom.

Mmm! Still have a few unused fans in the cupboard somewhere!

About Virtual Quilter

I am a quilter who designs many more quilts than I will ever make, and I am sharing one quilt design every day in Virtual Quilter. I also share my completed projects in Stuff-Ups, and Christmas decorations in Christmas Everyday of the Year.

Have a great holiday, Judy. Hope the Field Days at Paskeville aren’t as windy as they were two years ago!

    Cheers
