EQ Album Plus

There are 10 EQ Album quilt layouts on this blog so far. There are heaps more to come, but I have another question. Well, the same old question again.

What if ……. I add some plain blocks …….. and what if ………. I add contrast sashing, but not everywhere you would normally add a contrast sashing? So that sometimes you see it, sometimes you don’t.

Here is what the original sampler would look like with just the sashing added, because there were already a few plain blocks.

And here it is with a regular arrangement using just some of the blocks.

This is just the start. The pattern created by sashing which is and isn’t a nice contrast isn’t limited to this layout, so keep coming back.

Great variations. I hadn’t thought of part sashing like that

      Gina,
I have to admit, I ‘thought’ about it by mistake! I simply missed colouring a couple of sashing segments (forgetting to hold down the Ctrl button and doing each one separately) and liked the result. Wish all my mistakes worked that well!

Judy, I like this one a lot more than the one above it with the randomly placed blocks. This has more uniformity and emits a symmetry that makes another design element within a design. I just might have to keep this one in my favorites for some of my orphan blocks. Of course, I’d have to make some more “new blocks” to finish out the number needed for this layout. Keep up the good work. I love looking at the possibilities.

    Darlene,
I think the second one is the best too, but I suspect a sampler made with random blocks would look more appealing than the virtual version above.

I really like the layout with this quilt …. so refreshing with the blank blocks. This has inspired me to take another look at my EQ6 layouts.
