Irish Chain

I can’t say I have designed this one. Double Irish Chain is old and popular, a simple pieced design with space to show of some quilting skills.

The pattern is made by alternating these two blocks

But what if I don’t alternate them? What if I use them to create different designs? You get another series of quilt designs, starting with this one, where I replaced some of the checkerboard blocks with the other one.

How many quilts could you design using just two blocks? Keep coming back, as I will add a couple each month, maybe for the next year!

About Virtual Quilter

I am a quilter who designs many more quilts than I will ever make, and I am sharing one quilt design every day in Virtual Quilter. I also share my completed projects in Stuff-Ups, and Christmas decorations in Christmas Everyday of the Year.
