I am spending the day with my extended family, and a lot of others are still eating leftovers from Christmas Day, so today’s quilt is a leftover Christmas wallhanging.
This tree doesn’t look anything like it, but reminds me of a singing tree my Mum bought years ago. It wasn’t a bad looking tree, a few decorations, sat on a small table in the corner of the lounge. BUT, if there was a sudden noise, like a clap, a Christmas Cracker being pulled, kids yelling, it started to sing. There was a band, and this voice sang several Christmas songs ……… badly, and loudly! We tried putting a stocking over it one year, we all learned how to turn it off, but that meant we all knew how to turn it on. It was most satisfying to provoke it into song when someone was having a doze in the recliner next to it! Wonder if it still works? I will scrouinge around when I get to Dad’s, and if it works I will take it out to the farm to joint the family once again!
PS I didn’t have to look for the tree! It greeted me as I walked in the door, and we made sure it was turned on every time someone else arrived at the door!
