Log Cabin Blues 7, 8, 9 and 10

The instructions for this series is to make 64 Log Cabin blocks and then play with them!

The first fabric strip to be added to the centre square should be a light strip.

I like the centre square to be cut the same size as the width of the strips to get that nice straight line across the diagonal of the block.

The width of the strips and the size of the square can be whatever you like, but probably no more than two inches.

Add at least two strips to each side of the square, up to four if the strips are cut two inches wide … if you use very narrow strips and want a big quilt you can add more.

Even if you copy the directional placement of each block in one of my designs you can add a lot of your personality with the width of the strips, size of the block, to make subtle changes.

You can change the colour too … choosing any light and dark combination you wish … and even highlighting some areas of the design with different colours.

Make your own unique quilt!
