This is one of the first designs I did when I started using Electric Quilt 5 about 3 years ago.
Since then I have designed heaps, made a few, and used a few designs to publish patterns for Virtual Quilts.
I can design heaps of quilts in just a few hours, but I can’t make quilts that quickly, so I pick out the ones I like best, and because I quilt by hand, I only finish two or three a year.
In addition I use the designs for printed patterns, but it takes a long time to write instructions, so that only accounts for another ten at most over the same period.
The rest have been stored in my computer, unseen even by me unless I open a project file looking for inspiration for more designs.
This site is a chance to show the designs to others, and occasionally share designs by including the EQ6 project file for you to download and use. I hope to add a virtual quilt a day, and a project file about once a month.

so i have a blogger for a sister, and now you have a common feeder (?) as yours…
hmmm, i’m guessing that’s something to do with the breed of duck you’ve got swanning around the border of that quilt up there… i seem to recall that was one of my favorites when i browsed your hard drive stash.
as i said a little while ago you have become a nerd, but i’ll admit on the quiet a very talented one. imagine what you could have done if you’d learned to drive at 16 and bought a commodore computer 30 years ago – scary thought.
I can’t believe virtualquilter.wordpress was available as a blog address – do you know how rare a simple address like that is? lucky blogger.
all the best with the quilt-a-day thing. i reckon you’ve worked out how to auto drip-feed designs into the blog according to the calendar. if you don’t you’re a goose, so at least give it a go for your retreat weekends away when quilting is verboten after hours.
…and truly sincerely i hope this blog gets to be wordpress blogsite of the year! i’d send the address to all my quilty friends but the one on my bed is the only one i’v got – so i’ll just keep my toes crossed for you.
can you tell i’m having a spike milligan moment? it’s what happens when a project keeps you up all night and you forgot to eat..
..so it’s goodnight from me
love, your little sister, sue
Definitely a spike milligan moment, but you signed out like half of the two ronnies!
Thanks for being the first visitor and the first to comment. I’ll send you and extra Christmas card.
